Why Visit Delhi In February

Why Visit Delhi In February
February is the best time to travel to Delhi. The city looks fabulous, love is in the air and everything seems to be so inviting at this time of the year. (Road blocking due to the festivities during the months of October to December is also over by this time.) I don’t need to say much about the fact that Delhi is a great tourist destination. It is a legend when it comes to heritage sites. Not to mention, it has plenty of shopping and eating options. To enjoy a city to its full potential, it’s important to visit it in the right season, which is why I am writing this post.

Here’s how February paints Delhi in possibly every beautiful colour –

Fair weather
February is not just a perky time for tourists to pour in, but a great excuse for locals to explore the city. The nasty chills of January subdue allowing you to head outdoors. Sunshine is tender and the winds blow gently too.

Spring flowers everywhere
Delhi looks succulently pretty in February. Parks, gardens, roads, public sites and the vicinities of Rajpath and Chanakyapuri in particular bloom with spring flowers. Do not miss the Delhi Flower Show and the Garden Tourism Festival that take place every year in the month of February. The flower show exhibits all kinds of exotic flowers to soothe your senses. It’s a beautiful break from the city traffic and the everyday bustle.
Relaxed outdoors
February is a good time to simply relax and enjoy doing nothing. As I said earlier, the rush of festivities dies down by this time, so you can spend more time in the shopping malls, markets and at the heritage sites. It’s a good time to catch a movie, dine alfresco, go for long drives or engage in your favourite outdoor sport.

The Qutab Golf Course and the Bhalaswa Golf Course are two most eminent golf courses in Delhi.
Winter discount sales
If you are not much of an outdoor person, cash in on the discount sales that are on in full swing at this time in Delhi. Winter clothing is expensive, so why not grab the crème de la crème when it’s available for half the price. Splash out on all the big brands without holding your purse strings.

Short trips around
While you are in Delhi, take this opportunity to visit places like Agra, Jaipur and Amritsar, which are not very far from the city. The Yamuna Expressway has made it even easier and faster to get to Taj Mahal. It’s wise to explore the capital and the surrounding cities before the temperature rises. Going for quick weekend getaways at this time is less tiring and more rewarding.

Do you have anything ‘more’ to add? Why would YOU visit Delhi during spring?
