  • I visited Delhi back in December 2014 along with my friends and it was truly amazing experience. We have tasted different food dishes at Chandni Chowk, Visited in Metro early morning, Chatted with local people, Discussed tourist with various tourists and mainly witnessed politics center !

    • That’s great to hear, Niraj! I have lived in Delhi for a decade, so I have fond memories of it — Conaught place, Karol Bagh, the shopping, the restaurant hopping and the winter fun. 🙂

  • I do agree that Delhi has tons of stories in every corner from every epoch of India’s long history. Endless number of monuments, the amazing Chandni Chowk and the irresistible paranthas. From my personal experience when I made a trip to Delhi in 2016 with my German and Russian friends there were several things that Delhi’s people, the government and tourists need to learn and change. Our good times in Delhi is still overshadowed by the handful of rather uncomfortable, unfriendly and disturbing experiences we had. As an Indian in Delhi, I felt like an outsider myself who was treated unfairly and we seemed unwelcomed at many places. The locals at the Jama Masjid demanding an entry from foreigners although there was officially none, refusing us entry into the monument by someone who has no official ID and the police refusing to help us during this situation are exactly things no one wants to endure. People being proud of their cities while throwing garbage right outside the gates of their mosques and temples are simply intolerable. It is not enough if New Delhi alone is spotless clean when the most important Old Delhi is just a dump. Its very sad but Delhi is a place I would not be visiting again in the near future.

    • That’s sad to hear, Naveen! I agree with you that there are certain people who turn a beautiful place into a sordid one. I can understand what you are saying. I have lived in Delhi for 10 long years! So, I know the city quite well. But, I’d suggest you to look at the city beyond the stupid things that you had to go through, and enjoy the nice things that it has to offer.

      Happy travels 🙂
